What people are saying about this work:
“My name is Sarah Hertel-Fernandez and I’m the director of Belding Memorial Library in Ashfield. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting seasonal poetry shares facilitated by local poet Arianna Alexsandra Collins for the past three years, four times per year. It’s a tradition we intend to continue, as each share brings familiar faces as well as new writers, some of whom travel far to join the group! The format is unique: readers sit in a circle, and each reads a poem in turn until the group runs out of poems or time. Arianna crafts a thoughtful prompt (inspired by the season, nature, and literature) which guides readers as they select poems from their own body of work and work by others to bring with them. Anyone may attend but everyone must read. Arianna is a vibrant, welcoming host, encouraging even reluctant and shy readers to share. She always begins the event with an association exercise, which she circles back to at the end of the share. There is such a sense of good will, community, and creativity– it’s easily one of our favorite recurring programs here at the library. I know I feel lucky to work with Arianna!”
